“Included in the Pro plans without consuming usage.”
OpenAI Developers has launched composer predictions in beta for Pro users working on local tasks in the Codex desktop app. Tibo's Day 5 follow-up adds the usage term: the suggestions are included in Pro plans without consuming usage.
X syndication verifies the complete original posts, authors and timestamps. OpenAI Developers announced composer predictions at 18:22 UTC on October 9 and restricted the beta to Pro users in the Codex desktop app for local tasks.
The feature suggests a user's next message based on the conversation and their writing style. OpenAI Developers says a user can press Tab to accept a suggestion, edit it before sending, or switch predictions off in Settings.
At 19:47 UTC, Tibo called this the 28-day run's Day 5 improvement and said it is included in Pro plans without consuming usage. His post quotes the OpenAI Developers launch. The usage-free statement concerns the suggestion feature; it does not make subsequent Codex tasks free or change plan limits.
This announcement neither clears an existing meter nor promises a future reset. It is filed as a verified usage-policy improvement and stays outside confirmed reset history, the calendar and subscriber reset alerts.
What it means
- Composer predictions can suggest the next message based on a user's conversation and writing style.
- The beta is available to Pro users in the Codex desktop app for local tasks; OpenAI Developers says suggestions can be accepted with Tab, edited or disabled in Settings.
- Tibo says the feature is included in Pro plans without consuming usage. This applies to composer predictions; it does not say sent tasks or other Codex work are free.
- No existing usage counter is cleared. This is a usage-policy improvement, not a reset, so it stays outside reset history, calendars and subscriber reset alerts.
