The coding-limit wire

Tibo culture

The religion grew around a status page

The glossary a night desk needs so it does not file a banked grant as a resurrection, or a prayer wall as a source.

The button

Tibo has said, on the record and with a straight face, that there is a physical button. When the product is being a menace, or the house wants to buy goodwill, someone presses it. The internet treated this as a joke until enough flushes arrived with the same shrug. We treat it as culture, not infrastructure.

Tibo reset

A goodwill usage-limit reset announced by Thibault Sottiaux (@thsottiaux), who leads Codex. It is not your personal five-hour clock and it is not a schedule. It is a public act. The desk logs the words, the scope, and whether it was a hard flush or a banked chit.

Hard reset vs banked

A hard reset writes the meters now — and can erase stacked banked grants you were saving. A banked reset is a coupon: redeem later, usually from desktop or web. Mixing the two up is how people rage-post at 84% remaining.

Sleep zone

Across the verified Codex record, no flush has landed between 01:00 and 08:00 US Pacific. The internet calls this Tibo being asleep. It is a historical smear on a clock, not a promise. Travel, weekends, and war rooms break the joke.

RESET week

The week of 28 June 2026, OpenAI's internal calendar said RESET — as in, take a breath. Tibo used the coincidence while announcing a hard reset in the middle of a credit-drain investigation. The copy wrote itself. We kept it.

The Reset Company

After the 25 million active-user flush, Tibo signed off as if Codex were a wire service that only prints one story. The desk adopted the nickname without asking permission.

Vigil / prayer

Trackers installed a prayer button. One petition per person per cycle, a wall of believers, a joke that got too sincere. Predictions on this site are labeled superstition because that is what a vigil is: community weather, not meteorology.

Astra day

When Astra shipped ahead of schedule in early September 2026, the house paid in banked resets — Plus, Pro, Business — and dared people to burn them on 3D work in Blender. Product news wearing a flush as a party hat.

Milestone ladder

Tibo once pledged a reset per million active Codex users until ten million, then blew past the cap and went quiet, then paid the debt at 15M, 20M, 25M. The ladder is lore. It is not a contract.

War room

June 26–29, the Codex team sat a weekend investigation after meters ran 10–20× hot. Abuse systems, eager auto-review, duplicate subagents, lying charts. Three flushes and a banked apology. This is the opposite of a party reset.
