Saturday the 29th is crowded on this wire. Codex got the button at 20:43 UTC. Claude had already, at 16:47, posted a dated limit policy with a number in it. If you flatten both into AI reset day you are doing the reader a disservice.
The thread is the story. First post: from 14 September, standard weekly limits in Claude Code rise permanently by 25% for Pro, Max, Team and seat-based Enterprise, with the existing 50% increase in place until then. Second post, one second later: compared to today, that works out to a 17% reduction, with a promise of changes that give more visibility and control over usage.

What it means
- Policy ≠ flush. Your remaining bar moves by rule here, not by zero.
- The permanent raise is 25% from 14 September. The temporary 50% increase holds until then, which is why the second post in the thread calls it a 17% reduction compared to that day.
- Same date as the Codex paid flush. Coincidence is not a crossover episode.
